Archie is one of seven women who shared the kinds of gifts (and the outfits) that make their season bright—whether they’re giving or receiving.
Check out what Archie had to say. This is part of the December 2012 issue.
The Firecracker: Archie Panjabi, 40, Actress
Her Favorite Things: London native Panjabi, who plays the sultry Kalinda Sharma on CBS’s The Good Wife, can’t live without her Lhasa Apso, Benzi; macarons from French patisserie Ladurée; Le Métier de Beauté lip gloss; and Jo Malone candles. All things Parisian, in particular, have a special place in the Emmy-winning actress’s heart. “I just love the food, the culture, the dogs,” she says. “The women and how naturally sexy they are—and how they enjoy good food and do not put on weight.”
Why She Loves This Outfit: “This dress captures all the things I like: It’s very pretty, very festive, and very French.”
Her Merrymaking Style: Casual clothes for day (“I never get to wear jeans as Kalinda”), jewel-toned dresses for night. “I tend to do well in very structured dresses with fitted silhouettes.”
Her Gift List:
For the person who has everything: Unforgettable experiences, like the NYC interactive play Sleep No More
SleepNoMoreNYC.com
For the foodie: A selection of Indian spices, like star anise seed and black cardamom

Under $50: A charity donation

Archie has been nominated for her third consecutive Primetime Emmy Nomination! USA Today has Archie’s reaction.
Archie Panjabi from The Good Wife always appreciates her good fortune. “It’s the third time and I feel as excited, if not more. I don’t take it for granted. I never expect it. Hearing the news, it’s a big surprise to me. I’m so grateful,” she says.
She’s calling from the set of the drama. “I’m half-naked as we speak. I’m at a fitting. It’s one of my busiest days on the show far. I just shot one scene and I’ll go shoot some more,” she says.
So, who parties harder, her or fellow nominee Julianna Margulies? “I think it would be the whole cast and crew. We’ve known each other for four years. We would keep a bar open 24 hours,” she says. — Freydkin
Tonight is the 43rd Annual NAACP Image Awards and Archie is nominated for her role on The Good Wife in the category of Supporting Actress in a Drama Series… Well, Archie took home the prize and gave a beautiful heartfelt speech!
Archie & Matt appear in CBS Watch Magazine which will be available January 16, 2012 — the beautiful co-stars posed prettily for a glamorous photo shoot in Paris.
You can check out a more behind the scenes look at the shoot via E! by clicking here.
We will have scans of the issue once it is made available; and keep a look out for caps from last week and this week as well! Sorry for the delay!
I’m sure you’ve noticed that Archie Panjabi Central has been having some problems as of late. Apologies for that. Our host was experiencing server issues and that’s why the site was down for a day. The gallery is still down but I’m working to fix that. I haven’t been able add caps of this week’s or last week’s episode but those will be up as soon as the gallery resumes running. Once that happens I will also be able to add some wonderful images of Archie back from June of 2007 at the New York Moves Magazine Party for A Mighty Heart. Those have kindly been sent to me by Matt who has become invaluable.
Last week Archie attended the 2011 Metropolitan Opera Season Opening Night of “Anna Bolena”. She looked absolutely stunning in her strapless black dress. I added the images to the gallery a few days ago please excuse the tardiness of this news post. Some of the images are high quality but sadly some are watermarked. I have also added 39 new images of Archie at the Emmy awards to the gallery – most of which are high quality. For those of you who wanted to get a look at Archie’s shoes that night this is your chance. Shortly before the Emmys Archie sat down with Young Hollywood. The entertaining video is embedded below.
As you have probably heard by now, Archie lost out to Margo Martindale of FX’s “Justified” at the Emmy Awards this Sunday. She did, however, look absolutely stunning in a gorgeous green gown and was visibly thrilled for Julianna Margulies who won the award for best actress in a drama series. First images have been added to the gallery but I will be adding more later. Don’t forget to catch the season premiere of The Good Wife in its new Sunday night time slot and keep your eyes peeled for Archie’s CBS Watch Magazine cover.

Archie Named Pratham Ambassador
First off I want to apologize for the recent lack of updates around here. Life is keeping me rather busy at the moment but I will try my best to keep the site up to date. First promotional images for the third season of The Good Wife have been released, those will be added to the gallery later. CBS went through the trouble of putting together a twenty minute look back/preview special entitled A New Beginning which aired on the network last night. Screencaps of that will also be added. And now, thanks to Jason for giving me a heads up on the following story.
Pratham USA announced that Emmy-award winning actress Archie Panjabi will serve as an Ambassador to the organization, offering her voice and celebrity to its cause of educating India’s underprivileged children. It will be at Pratham Gala in New York that Archie will make her first formal appearance as Pratham Ambassador. The event will be at the Pierre Hotel on 5 October 2011.
Archie will host this year’s event that typically will raise upwards of $1.5 million and attracts a sold out crowd of prominent philanthropists and business people from the Tri-State area.
Pratham, which means “first” in Sanskrit, was founded in the slums of Mumbai in 1994 with UNICEF support. Today, Pratham’s direct urban programs, including pre-schools, community libraries and remedial learning programs reach hundreds of thousands of children every year. [MORE]
According to TV Line Kelli Giddish (who played Kalinda’s old friend and sometimes lover Sophia) will reprise her role in the season premiere of The Good Wife. Series creators Robert and Michelle King had hoped for a bigger storyline involving Sophia but since Giddish has been cast in Law & Order: SVU that is no longer possible.
As of now, Giddish is set to appear only in the buzzy CBS drama’s Season 3 premiere, which airs Sunday, Sept. 25, at 9/8c, and picks up very soon after the events of the sophomore finale. But pre-SVU, series creators Robert and Michelle King had bigger, frothier plans for Kalinda’s latest — and married — hook-up. And those plans were going to form the shape of a triangle.
“We are struggling with some casting availability,” Robert responded when I asked him about the triangle he had penciled in for Season 3. “As you know, we lost Kelli Giddish to SVU, so we are reconfiguring some of the thinking.” King, though, was resolved to bring back Giddish in some capacity, noting that her character “brought out a good aspect of Archie [Panjabi],” who plays typically tough Kalinda. “Kelli is so good,” he added. “They’re so lucky at SVU.”
Yesterday Archie received an honorary degree of Doctor of Letters from her alma mater Brunel University. High quality photos of Archie at the ceremony are available on the university’s flickr page.
In response to receiving her degree in recognition of her outstanding services to the arts Archie said, “I had two ambitions as a child: attend University and become an actress. I was told neither would be a possibility for me, but I continued to persevere.
“With the incredible support and encouragement of my parents, a wonderful teacher and this extraordinary institution, I was able to realise my first childhood goal. Returning to Brunel University to accept an honorary degree in recognition of my contribution to the arts is far beyond my wildest dreams and an accomplishment I hope will inspire others.”
